Meet the Simoneaux Family
Jesse and Brittney Simoneaux’s journey together began in 2011 at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. They were married on December 31, 2011, and from the beginning, missions, evangelism, and making disciples have been an important part of their life together.
Long before they knew where God would lead their family, He was planting a love for missions in both of their hearts. Jesse took his first mission trip in 2009, and Brittney traveled to the Dominican Republic for the first time in 2011. That trip began a relationship with Iglesia Bautista Evangélica de Macorís (IBEM) and the ministry in San Pedro de Macorís that would continue to grow for more than a decade.
For years, Jesse and Brittney helped lead short-term mission teams from their sending church, Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City, Louisiana. Together they served through construction, evangelism, Las Palmas Christian School, Mercy ministries, Vision Land, local church ministry, and by supporting and encouraging missionaries serving on the field.
Then, during a mission trip in November 2022, God began making it clear that their family’s role was changing. What had been years of going and serving for short periods of time was becoming a call to go and stay.
In August 2024, the Simoneaux family left the United States and moved to Costa Rica, where they spent a year studying Spanish and preparing for life and ministry in Latin America. In September 2025, they made the move to San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, where they now serve full-time with DR Vision.
Today, their ministry is centered on relationships, discipleship, the local church, and serving wherever God provides an opportunity.
Jesse uses his years of construction and hands-on experience to help develop and maintain Vision Land, a property being prepared and used for ministry. He also serves through discipleship with young men, sports ministries, community outreach, and self-defense and Jiu-Jitsu programs. Whether working on a construction project, sitting around a table, studying the Bible with young athletes, or simply helping meet a practical need, his desire is to build relationships that create opportunities to share the Gospel and make disciples.
Brittney serves faithfully alongside him while caring for their family and building relationships within the community. Her heart for children, families, education, and hospitality continues to create opportunities to encourage others and point them toward Christ.
Their family is also actively involved in the life of INVI Chapel, a growing local church plant in San Pedro de Macorís. Their home and lives have become places for Bible studies, meals, conversations, discipleship, and fellowship—something they prayed about long before moving to the field.
Their children have grown alongside the calling God placed on their family. Caleb, Abigail, and Johnnie Ann attend Las Palmas Christian School and are learning what it means to call the Dominican Republic home. Their oldest son, Kason, serves in the United States Marine Corps and remains an important part of their family and story.
Looking back, Jesse and Brittney can see that God was preparing their family long before they understood where He was leading them. What began with short-term mission trips has become a life lived among the people they once came only to visit.
Their desire remains simple: to know Christ, make Him known, build meaningful relationships, strengthen the local church, and faithfully join God wherever He is already at work.
